12-year old boy puberty
Puberty is a time of significant physical and emotional changes for boys.
At the age of 12, a boy may start to experience some of the earliest signs of puberty, such as:
  • Growth of the testicles and the penis
  • Development of body hair, including facial hair, underarm hair, and pubic hair
  • Growth of the Adam’s apple and other changes to the voice
  • Increased muscle mass and strength
  • Changes in body shape, including a broader chest and shoulders

During this time, boys may also experience emotional changes, such as increased moodiness and emotional sensitivity.

They may also have questions and concerns about the changes their bodies are going through.

It’s important for parents and caregivers to provide support and information to help boys understand and navigate these changes.

This may include having open and honest conversations about puberty, providing resources and materials for further information, and encouraging healthy habits, such as exercise and good hygiene.
