Average screen time for kids

Average screen time for kids
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends limiting screen time for children of all ages.
For children 2 to 5 years old, the recommendation is to limit screen time to one hour per day of high-quality programming.
For children 6 and older, the recommendation is to limit screen time to no more than two hours per day.
It’s important to remember that these are general guidelines and that the appropriate amount of screen time will vary depending on the individual child and their age, interests, and needs.
It’s important for parents to monitor their child’s screen time and to set limits as needed to ensure that their child is engaging in a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

In addition to limiting the amount of time spent on screens, it’s also important to consider the content that children are consuming.

Encourage children to be critical consumers of media and to be mindful of the impact that media can have on their thoughts and behaviors.
