Things to do before labor induction
If you are facing induction of labor, there are some things you can do to prepare yourself physically and mentally for the process.
Here are some things to consider before your induction:
  1. Get plenty of rest: It’s important to get enough sleep before your induction. Try to get 8 hours of sleep each night in the days leading up to your induction.

  2. Eat a healthy diet: Eating a well-balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains can help provide the energy and nutrients your body needs during labor and delivery.

  3. Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water can help keep you hydrated and may help prevent fatigue during labor.

  4. Discuss the induction process with your healthcare provider: It’s important to have a clear understanding of what will happen during your induction, including the potential risks and benefits.

  5. Consider your pain management options: Talk to your healthcare provider about your pain management options, including medication and non-medication options such as breathing techniques and relaxation.

  6. Pack your hospital bag: Be sure to pack a bag with essentials for you and your baby, such as comfortable clothing, toiletries, and baby supplies.

  7. Prepare for childcare for older siblings: If you have older children, make arrangements for their care during your induction and hospital stay.
